This research aims to study a modernist poem by Farouk Jweideh, a modernist Egyptian poet. The poem is entitled "And the Human Dies in Us". In this poem, we look at several significant semantic indicators, starting with the title, which is about two compounds linked to each other (man and death). This title, which is the enigmatic problem of the poem, forms the body of the open text, or the key with which it becomes possible to identify the meanings inherent in this text. The external geometric form of the poem, as well as the diversity in visions and rhyme refer us to the artistic and literary trajectoryof the poem.
